Organic LIFESTYLE
Someone once said : “Tell me what you eat and I will tell you who you are…”
Our food not only determines our health, but also defines who we are –IT help us to connect with our inner “Prana” or our life force…
According to the ancient science of Ayurveda, just like eating food is essential for life itself, eating the right kind of food at the right time and in the right manner is imperative for living a healthy life…We need to live in harmony with our environment and all the other creatures . Everything is interconnected the mind the body and the environment we live in.. Next to breathing eating is our most vital bodily function .Eating foods which are processed and full of chemicals and toxins is like eating food which has no life force or PRANA..In other words it is dead. How can this kind of food nourish and heal us..At best it can just give us some calories. Similarly a mind which is restless, negative and anxious. It opens the door for sickness and disease..A poisonous smoke filled atmosphere, a stressful and tense office or home can only further toxify our system by disturbing the flow of energy or prana in our body resulting in energy blockages or imbalances.
After understanding the power of the food we eat , I HAVE PERSONALLY BECOME AFIRM BELIEVER IN GOODNESSS OF FRESH AND NATURAL FOOD..ESCECIALLY VEGETABLES and herbs ..In that case living in Camerons is a bliss as the weather in camerons makes it a heaven for all kinds of vegetables.. you name it and chances are it grows here AND CAN be harvested and cooked fresh..WOW!!!! BUT the grim story behind our local vegetable produce is that it is tainted with chemicals. Environmentalist have expressed their concern about the growing abuse of harmful and illegal pesticides, synthetic fertilizers and growth regulators by our farmers…in Cameron Highlands..The figures are alarming cause for great concern to everyone.A few years ago feeling extremely disturbed at the state of our local produce I STARTED A SMALL organic patch around my house ..There has been no looking back ever since …Today my small organic patch has expanded into a proper organic farm which provides me with 70percent of my vegetables..
Organic farming simply promotes the sustainable health and the productivity of the ecosystem – soil – plants and humans. Organic foods are grown in an environmentally sustainable and socially responsible way.THIS is so much in line with us respecting our environment and living in complete harmony with everything around us…Without robbing the other creatures of there right to live and upsetting the ecosystem..the butterflies the beetles and the earthworms all live in a healthy vegetable farm..
PERSONALLY organic farming has marked a lifestyle change for me.
Imagine starting off the morning with a big glass of fresh vegetable juice, oozing with the goodness of enzymes …salads from my organic garden –freshly plucked and had for lunch with simple homemade natural dressings which add colour and variety to to a simple meal..
For dinner vegetables are grilled or roasted sometimes sautéed or blended to make the most delicious and nourishing soups…we will share some recipes of power foods as we go along..CHEERS
