THE JOY OF VOLUNTEERING…

VOLUNTEERING, Helping others while helping yourself………BACK home in  Cameron highlands, in the quietude that surrounds me.. EVERYTHING changes …LIFE comes to a quiet stands still…in the absence of the comforting presence of friends and family,  I feel the need to reach out and step out of my comfort zone…Our programs in the LOCAL SCHOOLS WITH REACH, the opportunity to work with the orang asli children in SUNGEI UBI, AND the kids at Cherish home provide me  with an opportunity to do just that…BEING out there has given me a strong sense of belonging and connection to the people and the place I live in..

BUT sadly one of the biggest problems we encounter today is the lack of volunteers …When 60 to 70 children of different age groups turn up for our programs we  feel extremely short handed..These children are clamoring for attention, with different age groups in a limited space….Although we have had  some very experienced and effective volunteers in the past,  we are overwhelmed by the kind of response we get …TO all of you out there who want an energizing escape from the monotony of routine life..Please join us and all you need to bring with you to these  programs is your compassion, positive attitude and you will experience a whole new world..Your small gestures can help to  bring awareness and improve the  lives of these children..So all those out there who want to VOLUNTEER  please email me at aseema54@yahoo.com..
